Simple confusion here:
Federal Unionized Employees get a two year pay freeze and hiring halt by Executive Order. No questions, no discussions, no hubub. Why? It’s essential for the budget. We all have to do our fair share and tighten our belts.
Bowing to growing budget concerns and months of Republican political pressure on federal pay and benefits, President Obama today announced he would stop pay increases for most of the two million people who work for the federal government.
But a state that declares it fu#king broke and only asks for a
10% (12.%) increase in heath care plan contributions (still 10% less than the nation average after the increase by the way, and the collective rights crap for the union is legacy 1960s drivel that’s not even vaguely relevant in modern industry today) gets this from President Obama:
“Some of what I’ve heard coming out of Wisconsin, where you’re just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally seems like more of an assault on unions. And I think it’s very important for us to understand that public employees, they’re our neighbors, they’re our friends. These are folks who are teachers and they’re firefighters and they’re social workers and they’re police officers.
You wanna talk modern union worth? Talk to every one of my aunts and uncles in Detroit on what the unions did to them. So Obama is cool with all of the 2 year pay frozen Fed employees taking over the Capital building then? Then where screwed waaaay harder than this sniveling BS in Wisconsin. I bet they’d love to march on the Hill, but they’re too busy actually working.
