Somebody has watched the Godfather a few too many times.
Assange has warned he can divulge the classified documents in the insurance file and similar backups if he is detained or the WikiLeaks website is permanently removed from the internet. He has suggested the contents are unredacted, posing a possible security risk for coalition partners around the world.
Is there a potential U.S. Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO Act or RICO) case here against Assange?
Assange warned: “We have over a long period of time distributed encrypted backups of material we have yet to release. All we have to do is release the password to that material, and it is instantly available.”
Where it gets interesting is that Assage previously only fell under the ‘terrorism’ clause in RICO, but with his threats to release further stolen classified information if he is “detained” the DOJ can additionally add the ‘extortion’ clause of RICO as well. This guy has to be about the dumbest Anachronistic Ideologue in the world. Or he’s deluded into think he won’t piss off the wrong Nation State enough to “remove” him. The Russians immediately pop into mind….
